At Reptifauna we offer live woodies (wood roaches) for sale with freight across Australia (excluding WA & TAS). Woodies are a hardy, low-odour and easy-to-keep-alive feeder insect, ideal for keepers who want a staple feeder that lasts a bit longer then crickets.
Available in small, medium and large sizes to suit a wide range of animal sizes.
Feeding Tip: As a general rule, feeders should be no bigger then the gap between your reptiles eyes. For setup and care tips, have a look at our woodie care guide.
Why Are Woodies Popular
Woodies don't chirp or make any loud noise like crickets, but their most well known for their hardiness. Woodies can live up to a year so you have far more time to feed them off then with crickets. They also tend to be accepted readily by most insectivorous reptiles, and are straight forward to gut-load before feeding.
Choosing the Right Size
- Small woodies — More suited to hatchling bearded dragons and other small lizards
- Medium woodies — Well suited for juvenile bearded dragons and other small-medium lizards
- Large woodies — Large woodies are still on the smaller side, so could suit larger juvenile to adult bearded dragons and other medium to large lizards
